Gates of Memory

Memory represents a gate or window through which we see the past. What we see or remember depends on where we point the window - like a torch we wish to shine on chosen moments and events.

We choose a few moments and events and declare this view "our past". But life and our past contains a vaster range of possibilities than can be seen from the window.

Each time we make big changes in our lives - each time we decide to be different - then the past changes. We look out of a different window - one that matches the room we now choose to inhabit.
